I was fifteen when I discovered I could take a good picture using what others called "the eye". It all came naturally for me. I realized my potential when I entered Washington State’s Annual High School Photography Contest. I competed against high school photographers from across the state and took 3rd place in the color category. I was offered a full scholarship from Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming but decided to attend Spokane Falls Community College. In the spring of 2006 I received my BA in photography and a minor women’s studies from Fairhaven College, located within Western Washington University.

For me photography has always been very spiritual and healing. I look for the intricacies in nature often photographing on my hands and knees; crawling around looking for new perspectives. Noticing the patterns and designs of nature has birthed an appreciation of horticulture, science and geometry.

What sets me apart might not be anything more than what drives me to create. No matter what I'm creating I am trying to move the viewer beyond their daily thought process. I push different perspectives, raw unaltered truth, forcing the viewer to look closer at their surroundings. I’m never looking for the pretty picture; that isn't what inspires me. I live through my art, whether that’s written, in song, through collage or my number one passion, photography.
